The term “fresh ink” is well known in the poetry community. It applies to a brand new poem that a poet is reading for the first time. As a youth organization, we have many poets who join us having never participated in an open mic or workshop, let alone a slam. They are the fresh ink being put onto this poem that is Fayetteville poetry, and we are here to present them for the first time.
Welcome to our Fresh Ink Open Mic series, where poets ages 13-19 are all welcomed to come, perform, and talk a little. We also accept song writers, rappers, and other short prose writers. We also feature a rising young artist and/or former poet of Poetic Pathos Youth Slam. Currently, we are in the virtual world, but hope to find a venue soon. We meet every 2nd Friday of the month.
