Poetic Pathos Youth Slam membership is open to all teenagers (13-19) in Cumberland County, as well as the surrounding areas which includes the counties of Hoke, Robeson, Harnett, Bladen, Lee, Moore, Sampson, Scotland, Richmond, Johnston, and Wake.
Each season start in August. Poets who turn 20 before July 28th of that season do not qualify to be a part of Poetic Pathos, but may volunteer for positions.
Membership is free, but participants are expected to participate and assist in fundraising activities.
Members of Poetic Pathos Youth Slam’s affiliates (See Team Affiliates) are automatically given membership of Poetic Pathos Youth Slam and may participate in workshops, showcases, and slams.
Members may be dismissed due to inappropriate behavior, which includes harassment, violence, bullying, and the tarnishing of Poetic Pathos Youth Slam’s reputation.
